The entire auto parts counter froze when a woman walked in with one very strange request.
“I need a seven-ten cap for my Buick.”
The employees looked at one another. A seven-ten cap? Nobody had ever heard of such a part.
But the woman was certain. She knew it belonged to her engine, and she was equally certain that “710” was the name of it. The more questions they asked, however, the more confusing the mystery became.
“What does it look like?”
She raised her hands and described a round cap about three and a half inches wide.
“Where does it go?”
“On the engine.”
That didn’t help much.
After several failed guesses, one employee finally pushed a notepad across the counter.
“Could you draw it for us?”
She picked up the pen and carefully sketched a round cap. Then, right in the center, she wrote:
710
The employees stared at the drawing.
Then they looked at each other.
And suddenly, the mystery was solved—and the entire counter erupted in laughter.
They weren’t looking at 710 the way she was.
Turn the drawing upside down.
710 becomes OIL.
One employee finally managed to say, between laughs:
“I think you’re looking for an oil cap.”
No mechanic. No parts catalog. No inspection under the hood.
Just one simple drawing—and a completely different angle.
